I asked you who your most-challenging-to-shop-for person was, and the resounding answer was the men in your life. I get that the best and prettiest gift guides seem to be for women, by women. Every year at Christmas, I shop for 7 men – my husband, 2 brothers, 2 brothers-in-law, father-in-law, and dad. So, I have a lot of experience. To make this list EVEN BETTER, I asked these guys to tell me what is on their wish lists. Read why they like each gift to find the perfect choice for the man on your list.
25 TRIED-AND-TRUE GIFTS GUYS WILL LOVE
Timex watch: a great value for a useful classic.
Homage tee: never-fail, American made, soft vintage tees. I’ve given these to my husband and bros and they now stock their closets with them. Can’t miss with one of these (or their sweatshirts).
Sweatpants: Zach asked for these last year at Christmas. They’re perfectly cozy, not sloppy.
Spikeball: On my brother’s list. A game similar to volleyball, but way more intense.
Remote control helicopter: My father-in-law opened this on Christmas morning a couple years ago. The guys played with it the rest of the day. The gift that makes them as excited as little kids.
Dirty Solid Scent: The yummiest smell ever. The only gift I gave Zach last year (and it was a huge winner).
Morning and Evening devotional, by Charles Spurgeon: My dad would love this.
To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee: Zach says Atticus is his hero. It’s worth reading this classic as an adult.
7 Men: And the Secret of Their Greatness, by Eric Metaxas: After reading Metaxas’ biography of Bonhoeffer, I think my history-loving dad would enjoy this collection of stories about great Christian men and how they lived out the gospel.
Football: Every Thanksgiving my husband and brothers pine for a fresh football to throw around. (Be sure to buy official-size).
Popcorn popper: We registered for this, and have used it constantly for the past 6 years. My husband pops a batch almost every weekend. It blows microwave popcorn outta the water. Throw in a sampler pack of gourmet Indiana corn (Ruby Red is my favorite).
Rudabeggas cold brew coffee: A delicious treat.
Malnati’s deep dish pizza: This Chicago pizza company will ship you a pack of pizzas on dry-ice overnight. We were given a pack after Evie was born. SO tasty.
New Balance M998 shoes: A really cool pair of shoes. My husband’s weakness.
Camp Mug: A manly coffee mug for his commute.
The Sandlot: A quotable classic.
Mens USA soccer jersey: I gave these to Zach for Father’s Day and officially won Best Wife Ever. Plus, World Cup is this summer! (order a size up)
Wool socks: My mom always puts socks in the guys’ stockings and there’s nothing like a crisp pair of new socks, according to my husband.
Indianapolis Monthly global eats issue: This may have been my 2nd best gift ever. Zach LOVES eating ethnic food. I picked up this issue for him at the grocery store on a whim. We’ve saved it and use it to pick date night spots. A gift that keeps on giving. Find your local magazine and search their back issues for an issue that hits your guy’s favorite hobby.
Spotify premium subscription: On Zach’s list this year, so he can listen to Spotify on his commute. You can buy gift cards in $10 increments!
Herschel weekend bag: The perfect bag for weekend getaways, it even has a separate spot for shoes.
Einstein poster: A quirky poster for the college-aged guy to hang on his wall.
Flannel shirt: The perfect shirt for the weekend. No age restrictions on this classic.
BONUS: Every guy in my family has been dreaming of a kayak, if you’re looking to splurge.
