Hello there and welcome to this lovely new space.
(if you’re reading this by email or reader, hop on over to see my rebrand!)
It still needs a few tweaks here and there, but I’m excited to have moved past “The Kubly Girl.” I felt I had outgrown that name during the past 14 months. Calling myself a “girl” is something I now hesitate over, as I find myself a full-grown woman. Breast-feeding, changing diapers, folding my husband’s laundry, and a thousand other things between fall into my daily tasks.
I found such an amazing community of women through blogging about modern topics of womanhood. I am grateful to each of you who read, and my goal is to continue to write about these issues we grapple with as women. You’ll find more posts about new motherhood, marriage, and personality traits. Expect gift guides, reading recommendations, and style posts, including a series about a well-curated closet. And hop over to my new “About” page to read some little-known facts about me.
If you came to my house in January, you would have found me snowed-in with the fireplace roaring. Then you would have noticed a pot simmering away on the stove for dinner. I would likely be bustling around our house, carrying Tommy in my arms with Evie at my heels. I spent several chunks of time simplifying our house. “Settling In” was the way I chose to start the year. Doing one big overhaul of each room led to a few boxes to donate to charity and a home I no longer need to fuss over.
Sure, I still put the kids’ toys away each night, but there aren’t little things here and there that are constantly pestering me. I have more mental space to concentrate on my family, my work, and my personal goals (more on that to come!). I took the same approach with this blog, since I chose to rebrand. Taking a break from writing to simply work on the site, means no fussing with it in the future. Lots of wide open mental space for writing, and I hope you’ll join the discussion.
There’s great stuff to come!
