One of the things that makes getting dressed so much easier, faster, funner is nailing down your style. Resisting trendy purchases and creating a signature look of your own are the natural (awesome) byproducts of these five steps. I’ve included my answers to get you jumpstarted for each step. Have fun!
1. Edit. Get rid of everything that you don’t love wearing. If you don’t wear it often, store it somewhere else.
ex. I store off-season clothes under the bed, and edit ruthlessly down to what I love. I don’t save things just-in-case.
2. Stick to a color palette. It’s simple to mix-and-match and makes shopping easier.
ex. I know I don’t wear brown, pink, purple, red, orange, yellow. I like white, cream, blues, grey, black, and army green.
4. Make a style pinterest board and put words on your style.
ex. My style is a mix of tomboy, French/Italian girl, and classic. I choose solids, denim, brass gold jewelry, leather purses, and tortoise or leopard print.
5. Create a go-to uniform.
ex. In a pinch, I always pull wear a Peter Pan collar tee, jeans, flats, and a cardigan or jacket if needed. Done.
Now it’s your turn! How would you define your style?
