Welcome to our sweet little guy’s room. Tommy is 1 and 1/2, and this is the first room he’s really gotten to claim as his own. As I explained when I shared Evelyn’s room in our new home, we originally had Tommy down in our bedroom and then tried to have the two littles share a nursery. This didn’t go as smoothly as anticipated, and we’re all super happy that each kid has their own sleeping space.
We painted this room, radiator, and closet Benjamin Moore’s Simply White too. It was originally periwinkle with a brown radiator (Bedroom #3 in this post of before pictures). The toys are split between the kids’ rooms, which are right across the hallway from each other. So, we often move from one room to the other during the day to mix things up. While Tommy is still sleeping in the crib, we set up the twin bed when we moved in so he can move into it when he gets a little older. The twin bed has a matching cover to Evelyn’s bed, in case we ever want to move them into a room together.
Almost everything in the room was from Evelyn’s original nursery, since we didn’t find out the gender in our first pregnancy. She has gradually gotten more pink and purple in her room. And Tommy got a lot of the greens + blues in his room. All the furniture, except the IKEA crib, are pieces from Zach’s + my childhood bedrooms, so the room feels really sweet + sentimental against the calm white walls. The large photo is from our trip to Italy; my great grandma made the horse pillow; the rocking chair was my mom’s.
