I take most of these outfit pictures on Sunday mornings before church. Evie wakes us up at 7, and we try to get at least one kid dressed before going downstairs for breakfast and coffee. Somehow convincing them to go back upstairs to get clothes on is always, always more difficult. While they eat, I take the opportunity to have the bathroom to myself and spend a little longer getting ready than I usually do. I bring up my coffee and steal sips between curling my hair and playing around with makeup a little bit. Now that I’m settling into a routine, it really doesn’t take that long to get ready. But it is nice to take care of myself uninterrupted.
Makeup and hair take maybe 10-15 minutes, and getting dressed takes about 3. I remember when Zach and I were dating, and I would take a leisurely hour to get ready and he would be waiting on me downstairs while I primped. Now, it’s all hands on deck to get us out the door and make sure the kids get to their Sunday School classes.
If we’re running ahead of schedule (we go to a 9am service) I’ll try to nurse Theo before we leave. If not, I’ll hang out in the mother’s room and take care of him during the first few worship songs. Zach packs up the older kids in the car and we’re off!
Favorite new sweater. So soft.
