I’ve owned this boxy striped tee from Everlane since October when I was about 30 weeks pregnant. I haven’t had much chance to wear it due to a growing baby bump followed by winter. Now that spring is here, I’ve been so eager to fit back into this shirt, since it seems like an ideal three-season top. What you couldn’t really see last time was the drop hem in the back and high side slits. It makes the shirt unique, and with a high-waisted pair of jeans, you wouldn’t see much skin. In the summer, I wouldn’t even mind if a little (tan) skin was showing. I can totally picture sitting on the dock at the lake as the sun sets in this shirt and track shorts.
However, in March… in Indiana…. with pale winter skin… and a body still soft from a sweet, sweet baby… Well, I’ve been trying to figure out how to cover up that slit. After several attempts, a silk tank came to my rescue, and I love the combination of the bold stripes and boy jeans with a flowy top peeking out underneath. In my spring capsule wardrobe, I mentioned my plan to buy a blush silk tank. But after trying it on, I exchanged it for the white version (size small, fyi), which has turned out to be much more versatile. I love that the tank not only completes this outfit, but also can stand alone with denim shorts or layered under a cardigan in the winter. And I’m so excited to use it as a warm silky layer under thick sweaters this winter.
p.s. Muscari, my favorite!
