One of the things I look forward to with the change of season is picking out new pajamas for our kids. It’s such a fun way to express their personalities. My kids often stay in pajamas (especially in the winter) for most of the day while they play around the house. I figure they will be in a school routine, where they have to wake up, get dressed, and go, soon enough, so it’s nice to let them lounge around the house sometimes.
Since our pajamas get a lot of use, I’ve included brands I rely on for soft, durable fabric without a huge price tag. As a rule, I avoid pajamas with words on them. “Mom’s little superstar” and “Number one slugger” and “Serious bedhead” verge on obnoxious in my book. Instead I look for stripes, florals, all-over patterns (vs. a shirt and pants that look different from each other) and my kids’ favorite things. Right now Evie loves all things ballerina, and Tommy loves knights, soccer, and brown bears.
Lately my kids have been playing dress-up constantly, so if I can find pajamas with a costume, it’s like bonus points! Here’s a ballerina, ballerina with footies, a fireman, fireman with footies, a doctor*, and a knight*.
I find most of the kids’ pajamas from Gap, Old Navy, or Kohls, with a store coupon. I buy them online, because it’s so much easier to scroll through the designs and sizing is simple. Then, I make sure to use Ebates**, which gives me an extra percentage of cash back on my purchase.
Cutest Kid Pajamas:
* The doctor and knight pajamas ship from a start-up company in Toronto called Playjamas. The shipping is a little crazy for the US, but they are super cute. Right now they’re offering up to $15 of free shipping, so it’s a great time to buy a pair or two.
** More on Ebates in this post, if you’ve never heard of it before. It’s sort of like an online rebate program that only requires one extra click to get a percentage of cash back on every online purchase. They’ve mailed me over $500 in the past 3 years. It’s awesome!

I know I’ll miss this one day when they don’t wear cute little pajamas anymore. It’s something I’m already a little nostalgic about. They’re just so sweet. Which pair would your little ones love?
