Last year I really started to put to bed the idea of “saving” luxury things, like candles, for later. Especially during the winter when I need all the cozy, snuggly, happy feelings to stave off the darkness and cold, burning those candles is one simple way to start. They’re beautiful and delicious, all flickering and warm. Here are my four tried & true favorites:
- Paddywax Tobacco and Patchouli … This scent is so enticing. I prefer the apothecary jars, but the concrete jars are cool and minimal, too.
- Capri Blue Volcano … Anthropologie stores have a signature scent, and this is it. It’s more floral than I normally pick, but after 20 minutes of burning this candle your whole home will smell lovely. I love to burn this for parties, and it’s always a perfect gift to give. The blue, mercury glass, and milk glass jars make pretty flower vases once they’re empty too.
- Mrs. Meyers Iowa Pine … This is my favorite winter candle. I keep it in our kitchen, and light it almost every morning. Your whole house will smell like a fresh-cut Christmas tree (especially perfect if you use an artificial tree!) It’s a limited edition scent, but it looks like Amazon and Diapers.com have some for sale already.
- PF Candle Co. Amber Moss … So, this is our current favorite. Zach and I both love the earthy scent with a hint of lavender, sage, and orange. The amber glass jar with a brass lid is science-y in its simplicity. I’d love to try their Campfire + Love Potion scents next.
What are your go-to candles? Do you have any lying around that you’ve been saving up? Now’s the perfect time to light one up.
