About six months ago, I ordered the Everlane Stretch Ponte Tube Skirt and after hemming and hawing, I ended up returning it. Zach really liked it though, and a little secret to my blog is that he is often my go-to style advisor. The man has a serious sixth sense about shoes. Ever since then, I’ve regretted sending it back, because it seems like such a versatile piece than can easily be dressed up and dressed down with almost everything I already own (just like these pants). And if my husband liked it, it naturally makes the ideal choice for date nights!
Unfortunately, the skirt sold out really quickly. So I waited and waited, and it was eventually restocked. The fabric is thick, and the elastic band at the waist is perfect for tucking in tops and adds a cool emphasis to your narrowest spot. I grabbed my usual small and quickly came up with lots of possible outfits for these spring-like Midwest days.
This is perfectly casual, and my go-to style. I like mixing something that could skew fancy with down-to-earth pieces like a simple striped tee and tennis shoes. The skirt has so much stretch to it that it is incredibly comfortable too. Tuck in a tee and then throw on a long cardigan or a denim jacket for easy layers.
Pairing a cropped black silk tee with the skirt elevates it instantly to a fresh version of a dress. The top is floaty, which offsets the skirt’s slim cut. Keeping everything in black is easy, but there’s nothing boring about this combo. Plus, it’s a beautiful, nursing-friendly combination if you need that.
